Nissan has set a Guinness world record for the fastest drift using a tuned 2016 Nissan GT-R. The spectacular record sees the car, modified to be two-wheel drive, entering a drift at 304.96kph. The drive was Masato Kawabata a Japanese drift champion and the drift attempt was held during a special event at Fujairah International Airport, UAE.

Nissan Middle East has released a new teaser video on YouTube, claiming the GT-R Nismo has set a new world record of some sort. Featuring a larger rear wing and what appears to be a sequential gearbox, the car shown in the video certainly doesn’t appear to be a ‘standard’ GT-R Nismo. Unfortunately the company hasn’t said what the world record is just yet, saying the full video is ‘coming soon’
