Volkswagen has unveiled the R line for the current Polo line but for now, it isn’t available with the added power of an actual R
In fact they’ve done the opposite. Using the 1.2-litre TFSI motor pushing out 77kW the Polo R line is just a decal and bodykit update rather than pocket rocket.
The R line is strewn with badges inside and out and gets special ‘Kyalami’ cloth upholstery with R logos in the headrest.
The bodykit is completely unique and sets it apart as a sportier and meaner than your average Polo. But the 0-100kph time of 9.7 means it’ll likely be all bite and no bark – until we get an actual R model.
