Toyota has revealed it plans to show a convertible concept of its 86 at next month’s Geneva motor show.
The 86 Open concept presents a preview of a possible variant of the sports car, the carmaker said, and will be used to gauge customer reaction to the idea.
This concept comes more than three years after Toyota showed it first study of a rear-wheel drive sports car at the 2009 Tokyo motor show that would become the 86.
It was launched in South Africa in July 2012.
Toyota’s 2013 Geneva show stand will also include the new-generation RAV4 with, the company says, ‘distinctive styling, premium-quality interior design’ and ‘greater efficiency’.
