Fans of the erstwhile British brand MG will have something new to look forward to at the upcoming Johannesburg motor show.
The new MG3, which is expected to go on sale in South Africa before the end of 2013, will be previewed at the October show just a month after its UK debut.
The little five-door hatchback shows current design features such as LED daytime running lights and a wraparound front windscreen, while its interior hosts a number of airbags and additional electronic safety features.
All models are powered by a 1.5-litre producing 78kW at 6000rpm and 137Nm of torque at 4750rpm and mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
There will be four models from which to choose. Specifications and options will be announced at the Johannesburg show, while prices will be announced closer to the launch in the final part of the year, MG South Africa said.
