Further to a joint announcement signed on May 23, 2012, Mazda and Fiat have declared the signing of the final agreement which will see Mazda produce a two-seater sportscar for Fiat’s Alfa Romeo at its Hiroshima plant.
The new Alfa roadster will be developed for the global market and based on the next rear-wheel drive Mazda MX-5.
Production is due to start in 2015 and, according to the agreement, Mazda and Fiat will develop two differently styled roadsters.
