Jeep has announced a limited-edition “Altitude” version to the Compass range for 2013.
The limited edition Compass Altitude builds on the concept’s appearance with a black gloss finish for the seven-slot Jeep grille and headlamps, black roof rails and a black step pad. The Altitude rides on distinctive 18-inch black gloss aluminium wheels.
Key features on the altitude include power heated wing mirrors, heated seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls.
Electronic stability control, electronic roll mitigation, hill start assist (on manual models) and side curtain airbags. ‘Altitude’ was the name selected from a competition that was run at the Houston Motor Show early in 2012 where a concept of the Grand Cherokee was shown.
More than 100 000 entries were received and Altitude was selected as the winning name. The Jeep Compass Altitude is available to order in Bright Silver, Black, Tungsten metallic and Bright White. Only 199 units will be sold in South Africa.
