Honda has just released a few details on its race engine for the World Touring Car Championship. The Honda Civic will run a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder motor.
This raises a few questions: firstly, this format of engine can also be used in WRC, so could Honda be looking at a rally bid in the near future that would run in tandem with their WTCC bid?
Secondly is this the likely engine for the new Civic Type R? Its competitors are all in the 2-litre turbo range but Honda has never had problems matching power outputs of larger capacity engines.
Either way, we hope Honda does something soon.
