Citroen adds entry-level DS3

Citroen’s desirable DS3 hatch can now be bought for the beguiling price of R199 900.
The cutest DS in the range now adds a VTi 82 Design designation, powered by a 60kW (or 82bhp) 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine.
Its introduction into the range also heralds the arrival of Citroen’s PureTech petrol engine technology to the range which, Citroen says, ‘represents a number of advances in terms of environmental impact and efficiency’.
It also helps this DS3 to achieve quoted average fuel consumption of 4.6 litres/100km and emit CO2 of 107g/km.
As for the rest of the DS3 range, the 1.6-litre petrol models remain unchanged alongside the e-HDi Airdream 90 engine introduced towards the end of 2012.
Visual differences across the range extend to fresh roof colours and a new three-dimensional effect for the LED lights of the rear cluster.
A four-year or 60Â 000km service plan, along with a five-year or 100Â 000km warranty is standard. A maintenance plan is optional. Price: R199 900
